# Create an Expense Type or Head ### How to Create an Expense Type or Head in Muhasib ERP ### Overview This guide will help you create a reusable expense classification linked to the correct account setup. The classification becomes available to allowed expense-entry users. ### Who can do this You need access to Expense Type/Head setup and any account-mapping permission. ### Before you start Confirm the name, parent structure, account mapping, tax behavior, reporting purpose, active status, and approval.

Before saving, check that the correct company is open and that you have permission to complete this task.

### Where to find it Back Office → Expenses & Vouchers → Setup → Expense Type/Head. ### Create an Expense Type or Head #### Step 1: Search for an existing equivalent classification #### Step 2: Start a new expense type/head #### Step 3: Enter a clear, unique name and description #### Step 4: Select the approved account and other defaults #### Step 5: Set active/status and parent values as applicable Set active/status and parent values as needed. #### Step 6: Save once ### Check your work Reopen the record and confirm name, hierarchy, account mapping, defaults, status, and selection in a test expense.
