Create and Verify a Manual Backup

How to Create and Verify a Manual Backup in Muhasib ERP

Overview

This guide will help you create an approved Muhasib database backup and record enough information to check that it is recoverable.

Muhasib asks SQL Server to create a database backup through this workflow. A success message alone does not prove restorability or application consistency.

Who can do this

You need access to Backup & Restore, SQL/file-system access, and organizational backup authorization.

Before you start

Notify users, finish critical transactions, stop or coordinate integrations, confirm free protected storage, and record application/database revision.

Before saving, check that the correct company is open and that you have permission to complete this task.

Where to find it

Back Office → Essentials Setup → Backup and Restore → Software Backup.

Create and Verify a Manual Backup

Step 1: Confirm the active database/company and backup destination

Step 2: Choose Backup Data

Step 3: Select the approved protected destination/name when prompted

Step 4: Wait for the successful-backup message; do not close Muhasib or

Wait for the successful-backup message; do not close Muhasib or SQL Server during creation.

Step 5: Record timestamp, size, database identity/revision, application build, and checksum when

Record timestamp, size, database identity/revision, application build, and checksum when supported.

Step 6: Copy according to retention/off-site policy

Step 7: Verify restoration only into an isolated disposable SQL environment

Check your work

Confirm the file exists, is non-zero, is protected, and restores into isolation. Launch the matching Muhasib build against the restored clone and run integrity/checking checks.

Take a moment to check your work before closing the window. This small check can save time later.

If something goes wrong

  • Never overwrite the only good backup.
  • Do not store backups in public/shared folders without protection.
