Overview

This guide will help you create an SMS gateway definition with the provider URL, recipient parameter, and request method.

The gateway becomes available for assignment to a location.

Who can do this

You need access to SMSSettingsAdd.

Before you start

Have provider documentation, approved URL, request method, recipient/message parameters, credentials, encoding, test number, and data-security approval.

Before saving, check that the correct company is open and that you have permission to complete this task.

Where to find it

Back Office → Essentials Setup → Manage SMS Settings.

Create an SMS Gateway

Step 1: Start a new SMS gateway

Step 2: Enter a unique Short Description

Step 3: Enter the provider URL

Step 4: Enter the Send To parameter name

Step 5: Select the request method

Step 6: Enter other provider parameters without exposing secrets in descriptions

Step 7: Save once

Check your work

Reopen it and confirm description, URL, recipient parameter, method, and protected credentials match the approved settings.
