How to Create an Item Bill of Materials in Muhasib ERP

Overview

This guide will help you define the ordered component recipe for a manufactured or bundled item.

Production/bundling workflows can use the BOM to plan or consume components and calculate cost.

Who can do this

You need access to Item BOM and Item BOM Add/Update, plus Item view.

Before you start

Create the finished item, component items, units/conversions, locations, costs, and accounting mappings. Define yield, wastage, and effective recipe outside Muhasib when versioning is not supported.

Before saving, check that the correct company is open and that you have permission to complete this task.

Where to find it

Back Office → Items & Advanced Inventory → Manage Item BOM.

Create an Item Bill of Materials

Step 1: Select the finished/manufactured item

Step 2: Enable/confirm BOM definition

Step 3: Choose a component item

Step 4: Select its Item Unit

Step 5: Enter Quantity and Order Index

Step 6: Add each component once; duplicate component items are rejected in

Step 7: Review Production Cost and overselling behavior

Step 8: Save recipe and definition when the form presents separate actions

Check your work

Create a disposable production/bundle transaction and compare and confirm component quantities/units, stock movements, finished stock, WIP, cost, and GL.

Take a moment to check your work before closing the window. This small check can save time later.

If something goes wrong

  • Do not add the same component twice to represent two stages; use supported process structure.
  • Check for circular dependencies before saving.
